See how far robot vacuum technology has come with the Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

There’s not enough time in the day. After a busy day, you just want to settle in at home to get cozy and relax, but it can be tough to really unwind if your place is dirty, and scampering around to clean is few people’s idea of a calm and relaxing evening. Robot vacuums have the potential to turn the tides, taking one of the biggest cleaning tasks around the home off your to-do list. But a great many of them won’t really get your floors fully cleaned, and they can add new chores for you as you look after their upkeep. Ecovacs has set out to change that with the Deebot X2 Omni. Not only is this robot vacuum a more effective cleaner around the home, it’ll look after its own upkeep.

At the core of the Deebot X2 Omni is a powerful cleaner. The robovac uses a square design and extra-wide rolling brush to cover more surface area and get closer to walls and corners as it navigates. It also has an immense suction power, rated up to 8,000Pa, which dramatically exceeds the suction power of many robovacs, ensuring more debris ends up inside the vacuum and not scattered about your home.

It’s not just vacuuming that the Deebot X2 Omni handles, though. Behind the vacuuming head, there’s a pair of OZMO Turbo spinning mop heads that can really dig into dirt on the floor and lift it up. Pairing the vacuum and mopping power, the Deebot X2 Omni is effectively ready to clean your floors all in one go.

To be a smarter and more effective cleaner, the Deebot X2 Omni uses an array of sensors to navigate your home. It has a pair of LiDAR sensors and cameras on the front that let it map and see its way around your home, learning the layout and floor plan so that it can intelligently navigate, covering every inch or going to specific rooms for on-demand cleaning. By situating the sensors on the front of the Deebot X2 Omni, Ecovas was able to make the robot sit lower to the ground so it can get underneath furniture more easily. A special sensor at the front of the vacuum also can detect when it is on carpets or rugs, at which point it will automatically lift the mop heads to keep them off of the carpet.

Now, the Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni isn’t the only robovac that can vacuum and mop. It’s an incredibly advanced and powerful model for vacuuming and mopping, but that’s not all that sets it apart. The convenience of the Deebot X2 Omni isn’t just that it will clean your floor for you but also that it will clean itself.

When the Deebot X2 Omni has finished cleaning your floors, or even when it determines that its mopping heads are too dirty, it will head back to its docking station. There, the robovac will recharge its battery and empty its dustbin into an even larger dust bin that can hold substantially more debris before needing to be emptied. The base station also rinses the mopping pads clean with hot water and refills the Deebot X2 Omni’s water reservoir so it can resume mopping.

With many robot vacuums, the robot will do the cleaning and then you’ll have to tend to the robot afterward before it’s ready to go out and clean again. But with the Deebot X2 Omni, a lot more of the work around the home is taken up by the robovac, letting you make the most of your free time.

You might expect to pay a king’s ransom for a piece of technology that can do so much work for you, but Ecovacs has some special deals going on for the holidays.
